We depart in the morning from the designated points and arrive in Kıyıköy, a charming fishing settlement located between the Pabuc Stream and Balkaya Stream. After having breakfast here, we first see the castle dating back to the Roman period, then walk through the historic houses down to the fishing shelters. Afterwards, we visit the Aya Nikola Rock Church, carved into the rocks. According to belief, Saint Nicholas, regarded as the patron saint of children and the poor as well as sailors, eventually replaced Poseidon, the iron god of the Roman period.
After some free time in the historic village, we take a pleasant journey through the lush green forest cover at the foothills of the Istranca Mountains and arrive at Dupnisa Cave, located near Sarp Dere Village, one of the largest caves in our country with a length of 3150 meters and a river flowing through it. After touring the stunning natural stalactites, stalagmites, and geological formations, we set off for İğneada. Upon arriving in İğneada, we have lunch, then tour the lakes in this region, whose ancient name was Thinias, formed thanks to the natural dams created on the beach by streams originating from the Istranca Mountains and known as longoz or floodplain forests. The largest of these is Mert Lake. The others are Erikli Lake, Sakak Lake, Hamam Lake, and Pedina Lake. Here, we take a panoramic tour, see the longoz lakes of the peninsula and the coastline, and return to Istanbul in the evening. We bid farewell by dropping off our valued guests at the points where we picked them up, hoping to meet again in another one of our organizations.
